[ARCHIVED] Miami Police Department Reminds Residents To Lock Up

The Miami Police Department is reminding residents to lock their vehicles. The department has recently received several reports of car larcenies involving unlocked vehicles in the southwest part of Miami.

Most theft from vehicles occur simply when the opportunity exists. For security, lock your vehicle every time you park it, even in your own driveway. If you need to leave valuable items in your vehicle, put them in the trunk or hide them under a seat.

In response to these crimes, the Miami Police Department is asking residents to report any suspicious activity by calling (918) 542-5585. Suspicious activity could be described as an unfamiliar person wandering through a neighborhood, looking in vehicles, and trying door handles.

Anyone with information about these crimes can contact the Miami Police Department by calling (918) 542-5585.
