The City of Miami’s G.A.R. Cemetery is pleased to host their annual Memorial Day Ceremony on Monday, May 26th at 10:00 a.m. on the cemetery grounds. Brown-Winters Funeral Home will provide a free lunch in the cemetery gazebo immediately following the ceremony. The public is invited to attend.

David Rountree, City of Miami and the Associate Pipers for the City of Tulsa Pipes and Drums will perform a Patriotic Ensemble and Amazing Grace.

Local Boy Scouts will help with the placement of approximately 2000 flags on veteran’s graves over Memorial Day weekend. Families can also come to the cemetery office to request flags to place on the graves of their family members.

Cemetery Manager Kim Horn said “The cemetery staff looks forward to and works toward Memorial Day every year. We want to invite the public to attend the ceremony and lunch. It truly is a special day of remembrance and fellowship spent with family and friends.”
