Cemetery
Overview
Grand Army of the Republic (G.A.R.) Cemetery is owned and operated by the City of Miami. The cemetery consists of 86 acres, with over 20,000 burial plots currently in place. The oldest legibly marked grave is dated 1892.

Burial records are available in the cemetery office. Maps and staff are also available to assist you in finding a designated location.
Online burial records are now available.

The grounds of G.A.R. Cemetery are maintained year round by the cemetery staff. As a city owned cemetery, a perpetual care fund exists for the purpose of ongoing cemetery upkeep and maintenance of the cemetery grounds.

It’s the purpose of the cemetery staff and management to provide empathetic, compassionate, and effective services for our families.
