At the December 1, 2020 City Council meeting, Resolution No. CC2020-24 was passed recommending that all citizens and businesses within the City of Miami follow Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidelines to prevent further spread of the COVID-19 virus. The recommendations from the CDC include the following:
- All people two years of age and older wear face coverings when in public settings and around people who do not live in the same household, particularly when other social distancing measures cannot be maintained
- Limit close contact with others outside of the same household by maintaining a distance of at least six feet both in indoor and outdoor spaces
- Wash and sanitize hands frequently and avoid large crowds
